Text Box: Hideout In Christ
The Hideout in Christ is a Youth Drop In Centre in Thompson, MB.
OUR VISION: Our vision is to develop relevant Christian drop in center for
youth in Thompson, Manitoba, and use this youth interaction base to develop
more programs and events to direct youth towards Christ.

OUR MISSION: Our mission is to provided a place of community for at risk
youth to find a refuge from the streets and a place that they can be
introduced to a positive Christian relationships. Through these relationships
pray that the youth may see Christ, hear about Christ, and enter into a
relationship with Christ.

OUR CENTERAL VALUES
Life: We value life as a gift given from God. No life is worthless! The
value of eternal life is made ever greater when shared through the gift of
Christ’s reconciliation on the cross, through prayer to the Father, through the
working of the Holy Spirit and through the communion of one another.

Hope: We carry a hope with us that all might be saved through Christ.
We are in the business of hope. Hope for the youth (specifically youth yet not
excluded to youth) to be reached, and the church to go into the world and yet
remain in the truth.

Inspire: We long to inspire young people to enter into a deeper
relationship with Christ and potentially into leadership within the Church so
that they might find a body to be a part of.

Disciple: We believe in discipleship to mentor and grow young people
throughout their lives and at the same time to allow ourselves to learn from
the testimonies and example that Christ chooses out of these youth. We also
believe that discipline, done out of love, and accountability are a very valuable
aspects of life.

Empower: We believe that the youth need to be empowered to change
their lives towards Christ with knowledge of who He is, with testimonies of
peers and adults, and with positive adult role models.

Overcome: We believe that we have all sinned and need to overcome
our sin. To help youth to overcome their issues and/or addictions is essential to
developing the whole person into a stronger and better person.

Unite: We believe in the uniting power of Christ and that the youth
need to be together as one faith alongside the church, one faith, in order to be
a true body of Christ.

Testify: We believe that we need to testify to the gospel of Christ and
the good he has done for us, in us and around us. We also see the need to
encourage the youth to be able to testify in every situation to the workings of
Christ no matter how opposed by the evil one. Yet remain culturally sensitive
to do good and not damage the testimony of Christ.

The Proposed name “the Hideout” youth drop-in center is an acronym from
these central values.
